In all the years I’ve been here I had yet to do a session among the cherry blossoms at Red Wing Park. We had so much fun making little “R” squeal with the raining blossoms. And I adore her blonde curls.
They were here for just a short stay. I had such a wonderful time with them on them on the beach though. It was one of our crazy weather days where every forecast is calling for rain and then it clears at the last minute. We had the most amazing overcast light for their session.
These were a Father’s Day gift for a deployed daddy. What a special gift for him. And this momma will be very happy to have him back home soon. <3
They gave me a peek what having older boys will be like. Bring on the wedgies, the wrestling, the laughter and the adventures.
This was a vision that started as something else. Inspired by a color palette and an idea for a headboard that I handmade. I adore where this inspiration led me and what this shoot transformed into.
This past week I received the news that one of my images won 1st place in the Family category of the January 2012 NAPCP International Image Competition!
I am so thrilled and honored that this image was chosen. It’s one of my all time favorites of a family that I adore. You have probably seen it before. It’s one of the main images on my website and blog. But I’ve never actually featured the session yet. So, I thought I would share a few more.
It rained…and it rained…and it rained.
This vision started with a mirror. A friend’s mirror that I kindly asked her to trek through the mud with it. She brought along her great-grandmother’s umbrella and I squealed when I looked at this test frame…
And then we let the girls have fun in a field with gorgeous golden light.
The evolution of a laugh as told by 3 month old Miss S…
I just realized that I have never shared this child portrait session with my gorgeous niece. You’ve likely seen a few of these pictures but I love stepping away from a session and returning to it with a fresh pair of eyes. Some of these I had yet to edit until now. The dress was handmade by my Mom. I have a few that she has made for me if anyone has a little girl and wants to use one for your session! I miss you baby girl!
